This autumn, the Julius Center will initiate the CAPITA trial, the largest Dutch vaccination trial ever involving 85,000 people. Prof. Dr. Marc Bonten talked about the trial in current affairs programma NOVA last night. Click here to watch the programme.
The CAPITA trial is performed in conjunction with 750 GPs, hospital Spaarne Ziekenhuis in Hoofddorp, the Netherlands, and the Netherlands Vaccin Institute. The effect of a new vaccine against the pneumococcal bacterium is tested on a group of 85,000 people of 65 years old and beyond.Read the UMC Utrecht press release about this trial here (in Dutch).
