Cardiologists cycle to Barcelona for Sportcor

At the end of August, 20 cardiologist will cover 1,600 kilometers on their racing bicycles from Maastricht (Netherlands) to Barcelona (Spain) in just 7 days. Their reason for doing this is to draw attention to research on cardiac arrests in sportsmen and -women and to collect funds for this research. A national registration system called Sportcor was established by the VSG (Vereniging voor Sportgeneeskunde) and the NVVC (Nederlandse Vereniging voor Cardiologie) some time ago.

As this subject still requires a great deal of research, the cardiologist have chosen Sportcor as their good cause for this year's sponsoring activity.
