Julius Biostatistics aims to research, develop, apply and teach statistical methodolgy for design and data analysis in biomedical and biological research. We strive to improve the positive impact of statistics to ultimately benefit human and animal health.
Julius Biostatistics
combines the benefits of an academic setting with extensive experience in applying statistics to a great variety of biosciences research. Its research lines include design and analysis of clinical research, including sequential design, and causal inference and statistical prediction and classification for high dimensional and complex data. This provides a solid foundation to partner with researchers in biosciences and provide state-of-the-art statistical support. Our education portfolio can be found at more... .
Consultancy and statistical support
From our mission to positively impact quality and efficiency of biomedical research, support is given to researchers, PhD students and MSc students within University Medical Center Utrecht and University of Utrecht. Statistical support is also available to external parties, including biosciences research institutes, pharmaceutical and biotech companies. Key contributions include expert input in (clinical) research design, statistical analysis plans and perform statistical analysis. We guide researchers in performing their own analyses. The collaborative research projects also form a source of inspiration for further development of statistical methodology and hence can lead to joint research publications. Julius Biostatistics is also well positioned to act as statistical coordinating center for interim analyses and Data and Safety Monitoring Boards. Several statisticians with Julius Biostatistics have extensive DSMB experience.
